Renowned Environmental Lawyer Keynotes Inaugural Economic Development Lunch

Houston (May 3, 2016) –Environmental law expert, Jed Anderson of the AL Law Group, will help economic development professionals and business and industry leaders answer a critical business expansion question, “How can I get my permits ASAP?” Anderson will provide answers during the first-ever Economic Development Luncheon on May 12th hosted by the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region. Anderson will outline legal strategies to help identify and obtain expedited permit authorizations as he formally unveils a new service of the AL Law Group, “Expedited New Project Authorization Strategies Service” (ENPASS).

The AL Law Group ENPASS service utilizes tools developed by AL Law attorneys who have a combined 140 years of environmental legal services for Fortune 500 companies. Using ENPASS, the AL Law Group provides guidance on how to legally structure and evaluate a new project to manage authorization time-frames and costs.

“Authorizations can take more than two years and cost millions of dollars,” said Anderson. “Using legal factors articulated in case law and legal interpretations, we can implement ENPASS when project planning begins to help avoid lengthy time-frames and extraordinary costs of the permit authorization process.” Anderson points out that if a new project will make $100,000 per day, expediting the authorization project by just 10 days earns a company $1 million. In addition to making the company money, earlier construction dates and start-up dates benefit cities and counties in the region with more economic activity.

“It is an exciting privilege to be asked by the Economic Alliance to speak to my fellow members from municipalities and business and industry about expediting permit authorizations through our proprietary legal service, ENPASS,” said Anderson, an active member of the Houston Port Region economic development group.

The luncheon will be held Thursday, May 12th at 11:30 a.m. at The Battleground at Deer Park (1600 Georgia Avenue, Deer Park, TX 7753). For more information or to register for the event go to: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07eclegiy4f4b4f2b4&llr=7ybhj4sab

As a dedicated environmental law firm, AL Law Group has developed several professional environmental service processes to assist clients with commonly occurring legal situations. In addition to ENPASS, AL Law created a unique Over-Compliance Environmental Legal Assessment Service (OCELA), an innovative tool to help companies improve environmental performance while reducing unnecessary costs and decreasing potential liabilities created through over-compliance.

The firm also created Agency Submittal Legal Review (ASLER), a legal environmental review system to reduce company costs and legal liabilities in agency submissions and In-House Environmental Counsel (IHEC), a slate of legal services that help companies with no or limited in-house environmental counsel, companies wanting to supplement and enhance internal environmental legal help, and companies cutting back legal departments during an economic slowdown. IHEC provides in-house environmental counsel on location or out-sourced with one or more experienced attorneys.

“AL Law Group’s unique expertise and structure gives us the capability to offer distinctive services. We are proud to provide big firm experience at twice the value,” Anderson added.
